Knock Airport General Information
Knock International Airport, eight miles from Knock, has limited flights from Dublin, London and Manchester. This is by far the most convenient option, though it would be advisable to book well in advance during peak holiday seasons. The other options are Dublin International Airport, a four-hour drive, or Shannon International Airport, a three-hour drive away.
It is Ireland's fourth international airport. Last year some 250,000 pasengers passed through our doors, a growth of 25% over the previous year, making it the fastest growing airport in the country. It is the only international airport serving the EU designated Border, Midland and Western region of Ireland and links the West and North West of Ireland with the UK and many European and intercontinental destinations
Bus Eireann offers buses to and from Knock from all major towns and cities with numerous services every day from Galway. There are also private bus companies offering (sometimes cheaper) similar services.
Knock is located on the N17 road, midway between Galway and Sligo. It is about 45 miles from Galway and 140 miles from Dublin. Road distances in the west of Ireland can often be deceptive due to the winding nature of the roads but this is part of the unspoilt charm of the region

Car Rental Collection Details
Come out of the baggage reclaim, walk past all the car rental companies and proceed to the pre-booked car hire area in Knock airport arrivals area.
On collecting your car, please have your reference number (see below) and your DRIVERS LICENCE (issued in your country of residence) and your CREDIT CARD (for security imprint).
You will complete and sign a rental contract. The car will be supplied with a full tank of petrol which is to be prepaid. Maps and touring assistance will be provided. Car controls will be demonstrated. Car return instructions will be provided.
